Why HummingbirdX uses ‘Allow-list’ and not ‘White-list’
“Be the change you wish to see in the world” — Gandhi
When we started envisioning HummingbirdX as a brand, we wanted to build a community on the core values of ‘equality’ and ‘inclusiveness.’ The Web3.0 space is a pivotal point that embarks a new revolution on the internet, with a promise of ‘next-gen’ capabilities. We want to start that by letting go of verbiages like ‘whitelist’ and ‘blacklist’ with positive connotations linked to ‘white’ and not so favorable towards the word ‘black.’ We realize that biases and discrimination are often not done intentionally. However, we firmly believe that every little step counts, and acknowledging the need for this change is something that HummingbirdX firmly stands by.
We are in 2022 at the brink of the most significant change in the internet, and it is high time that we marshal the NFT community to a fairer, more inclusive environment as equality is in the very fundamentals of Web3.0. That is why The HummingbirdX community will only use the word ‘Allow-list’ for the shortlisted members who would have early access to the NFT collections. This gesture may be a small change but will be a part of a much larger conversation that the HummingbirdX community wants to champion in its endeavor.
HummingbirdX is super excited for the next generation of digital Fashion, and we can’t wait to see our community members be the ambassadors of freedom and the expression of creativity in Fashion.
